Fun Facts: Succulents store water in their leaves or the top part of the plant. They get their name from the latin word sucus, translating to juice or sap. Many succulents can be propagated from one leaf! Cacti are part of the succulent family but are classified as such since they have areoles , usually where their prickly hairs or flowers bloom from. Cacti developed their prickly exterior to prevent dessert animals from drinking the liquid stored inside of them.
